Elisabeth Drude, Austria

Elisabeth Drude is a German jewelry artist, living in Vienna. After an apprenticeship in goldsmithing and a master's degree in art history, she worked in business for a long time. In 2016 she founded her jewelry studio and since then she has participated in numerous international exhibitions.

My favorite material in jewelry are animal bones. The bones found exist only in their memory of past life. Through processing, the material undergoes a transformation into colorful and floral jewelry objects. Working with relics of past life is my dedication to the eternal cycle of life and death, a perpetual motion machine with hopeful, even colorful new beginnings.
