Bio

Born in Vienna; self-taught goldsmithing, jewellery making; further education with Academy for Craft and Design Munich, and other institutions; since 2000 freelance; own studio, teaching, workshops, curating. Memberships: BKV Bayerischer Kunstgewerbeverein, GEDOK Munich, Dept. Applied Arts, JAC Jewellery Art Concept Exhibiting in various group exhibitions; Works in various publications.

Artist Statement:

Vellum, my preferred material, proved to be a demanding subject for jewellery. Nevertheless its seemingly contradictory characteristics turned out to be the perfect response to my requirements for making comfortably wearable sculptural body adornment. The complex delicate shapes of radiolarians are the source of inspiration for these brooches.
