‘Jewelry off the Grid’ is a curated, juried exhibition featuring out of the ordinary art jewelry made from uncommon materials or common materials used in uncommon ways by contemporary jewelry artists from around the globe.
Playing with the double entendre of the phrase “off the grid”, AdornAxis not only references the uncommon nature of the jewelry that we feature, but also the literal power grid, technology, as well as energy. We kept an open mind while curating, and were open to a wide variety of interpretations of our theme. In addition, we pushed our in person exhibition to incorporate power, electricity, light, reflections, as well as interactive, conceptual new media live performances.
Our in person pop up gallery features spotlight artists Caitie Sellers (US) and Juanjo Garcia Martin (Spain) along with 13 artists from across the US, and our virtual exhibition features 23 additional artists who were selected from a highly competitive pool of international submissions.
