Ruth makes jewelry using wool. She fuses traditional felt making techniques. Wet felting; using soap, water and friction to bind the wool together. Needle felting to create shape and pattern construction. Her designs have a strong use of bold colours and shapes inflected with a Mediterranean verve.

This brooch started as a dare for myself; to create a piece of jewellery that is not my usual style. Through this process it became a piece about truth, a truth about myself. Sometimes I need to stop everything and be lazy. I don't like to admit to the act of laziness but it can be beneficial to my health and well-being.
