Laurel Fulton, US

Originally from Colorado Laurel Fulton is a jeweler and metalsmith whose work focus’s on ideas of connection, the body and the senses. She holds her MFA from UGA, has participated in several residencies throughout the US and currently is a professor at RIT in Rochester NY.

This work is both a truth and dare to some degree. Much of my previous work is much larger in scale, attaches to the body in non-traditional ways and utilizes powder coated metal, acrylic and leather. These brooches and earrings are much more intimate in scale and are made from more traditionally precious material, silver. However, much of the forms such as funnels, lenses and connecting pipes or wire are consistent throughout the scope of my work.
