Hua Wang, US

Hua Wang (b. 1999) is a Boston based artist, born and raised in Shenzhen China. Hua is an interdisciplinary artist who mainly focuses on jewelry, painting, sculpture, and sound. She recently graduated with a BFA degree from Tufts University, with a major in Fine Arts and a minor in Music.

This is a neckpiece, a bra, an armor, protection, a religious object, a constraint, an expectation, and so much more. The bra is made of plastic, an artificial material, while the nipples on the breasts are acorns, all natural. The acorns are secured with prong settings, which is often used for setting gemstones, dignifying natural reproduction, motherhood, and femininity.
