Ani Flys, Spain

Ani Flys, born in the USA, studied sculpture at Tyler School of Arts (Philadelphia, PA). She resides in Spain and creates wearable contemporary jewelry using real egg shells from un-endangered species. In recent years she has shown in Europe and the USA in jewelry weeks, galleries and museums.

Are you ready to take a dare or do you prefer to exercise caution? The unreinforced egg sits protected in its nest. You decide whether to “hatch” or coddle the egg. An active intervention might give you more control to shape it or then again, to mess it up. Will you like the brooch more or less if you act? Maybe just let time decide for you. Like many things in life, taking a risk means there is no turning back. But the result of a hatched egg could bring surprises! The choice is yours.
