Pallavi Verma, India
Pallavi Verma (1991) is a young Indian contemporary jewellery designer. She holds BA and MA Jewellery Design & Gold and Silver smithing from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp.
She has been involved in various exhibitions around Europe and Asia. Her Bachelor work ‘Leaving Traces’ was selected for 2015 ITAMI International Jewellery Exhibition at Museum of Arts and Crafts, Itami, Japan.
Her Master work ‘Intimation’ was selected for Marzee International Graduation Show 2016 and is currently displayed at Galerie Marzee, Nijmegen, Netherlands. This work was also selected for 2017 ITMAI International Jewellery Exhibition at Museum of Arts and Crafts, Itami, Japan.
At the age of 19 she moved to Europe from India to pursue higher studies in Visual Arts. Pallavi’s work involves personal experiences from both eastern and western culture. Jewellery for her is about hidden revelations, marking boundaries, emotions and identity, than just being mere ornamentation. She makes interactive pieces through which she tries to involve or touch the wearer and the observer physically and psychologically.
Her 1St Jewellery Collection inspired by nature “The Marks of Maturity” was shortlisted for the MASTERS IN CREATIVITY, International Jewellery Design Contest, 1st Edition 2017-2018.
Presently she is owner/proprietor of Pallavi Verma Designs.
