Jason Stein, US

Jason Stein pushes the limits of materials and processes to explore themes of control, chance, and failure in the physical world and within our own consciousness through the ideas of order/chaos and the industrial vs organic.

These works represent a shift in my practice towards taking risks and new ways of approaching my work both technically and conceptually. With “Temporal Resonance #32” I combined my use of found objects with an aggressive approach to torch-brazing using industrial silver solder to create a more subtle and beautiful form. With “Stoneheart” I went way outside my comfort zone to create a truly narrative piece that was inspired by and directly references a sentimental memory I cherish and hold dear.
