Alice Biolo, UK

Hailing from Italy, Alice started her study in Jewellery design at the Liceo Pietro Selvatico in Padova. After her hs diploma she moved to the UK, in Scotland, where she further pursued the Silversmithing and Jewellery design course at the Glasgow School of Art, graduating with a BA (hons) in June 2023.

Using metal, I have explored the theme of pain and trauma to facilitate a conversation about normalizing human emotions. This is done through strategically showcasing the sharp pins either in the front, or by hiding them in the back, creating an intimate relationship with the wearer. Making jewelry is a therapeutic process through which I worked to understand my subconscious emotions by translating them into tangible objects, with the hope of accepting and healing the darkest parts of my being.
