Biolumina is a collection of works inspired by the bioluminescent creatures in the ocean that leave us curious as to how living creatures evolved to emit light from their bodies. There is a sense of awe and excitement when we encounter a bioluminescent living being. This collection highlights a combination of form, volume, shape, and design, with the introduction of a lighting source within the forms. The proportions are exaggerated to achieve the dynamic articulation of the sea creatures. The use of fiber optics and LED lights accentuate the bioluminescent features.
