This work is my loose interpretation of how I would create a road or advertising sign. This series of signs incorporate

elements of directional and industrial signage, marquee arrows, and billboard scaffolding. These signs are made to be intentionally confusing. The surplus of arrows that point in all directions make them completely useless as a directional tool. I created these sulptures during the pandemic, when I had been feeling lost and aimless. The signs addressed my internal confusion and were my response to the world getting turned around. I was looking for direction and lost to a feeling of hopelessness that a lot of people experienced. The process of making this work ended up being my best coping mechanism. Making allowed me to absorb myself in the physicality of building and became my greatest outlet. I wanted the work to always remain playful. I used the bright palette of pink copper and yellow brass to create a bright and warm tone. I made many of the arrows movable with magnets or spinning mechanisms. The sign, the GPS system, ended up a whimsical fantastical object, as though it came from a world where reality had no limits.
