The world we live in today honestly scares me. Maybe people in other generations felt that way too?

While I was pregnant with my first (and only) child, I was consumed with anxiety regarding climate change. This intense fear led me to completely reinvent my body of work to not only seek out eco-friendly materials, but now the underlying theme of my entire body of work has become centered around climate change.

However, there are actually more immediate issues that might frighten me even more: on average, 40,620 people in the US die as a result of gun violence every year with an average of 12 children killed daily. Mass shootings and school shootings are on the rise…it feels like every day there is something in the news. I receive text alerts on a daily basis about lockdown drills and shelter in place notifications from my son’s school. This should not be normal.

Enough is enough.
